Acting Chief Operating Officer

Eng. Medhat Hashem is Acting Chief Operating Officer at Emirates Steel Arkan. In this role, he leads operation, maintenance, quality and safety functions. Hashem brings to his role a wealth of experience spanning 25 years in steel industry and holds proven expertise in production and operations.

Over the last 16 years, Hashem completed tenures at Emirates Steel as Head of Bar Mills, Senior Manager of Rolling Mills 1, 2, 3 and 5 and Vice President – Rolling Mills.

Prior to joining Emirates Steel, he worked for 10 years at Al-Ezz Steel Rebar Company in Egypt as a Production Engineer and Planning Engineer.

Eng. Medhat Hashem holds a Master’s in Metallurgical Engineering – Heat Treatment from Cairo University in Egypt, and a Bachelor of Mechanical Design and Production from Menofia University in Egypt.
