Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, owned by SENAAT, joined the health awareness country-wide national campaign to mark World Health Day 2017 which is celebrated on 7th April every year and is held this year under the theme “Depression”. Activities were organized in cooperation with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Medeor Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
Emirates Steel initiative comes in-line with the determination of the UAE government in providing a healthy environment for individuals, families and employees and in response to the efforts invested to unify efforts to educate the public and increase health awareness on varies threatening diseases that impact people and societies, while highlighting the vital role of regular check-ups to reduce risks as well as the company’s in social responsibility role, and its commitment to improving the quality of life and the health conditions of its employees and their families.
Emirates Steel’s Health day; which was attended by a large number of employees; included educational and medical awareness lectures about “Depression” by Dr. Mofeed Raoof Specialist Physician from Sheikh khalifa Medical City and by Ms. Salwa al Rahma President of “Positive Ambassadors” initiative, in addition to free medical screening provided by medical staff from Medeor Hospital Abu Dhabi as part of the event.
