The UAE has declared August 28 of each year to be commemorated as Emirati Women’s Day in recognition of the role Emirati women have played in the sustainable development of their country. This was implemented under the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al-Nahyan, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, GWU, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
Accordingly, Emirates Steel, joined the nations celebrations of the Emirati Women’s Day by organizing a gathering for their Emirati women employees where they were encouraged to continue their path in marking their success in various fields of the Steel industry in the UAE. H.E. Engineer Saeed AlRemeithi, CEO of Emirates Steel, thanked the Emirates Steel Emirati women and continued to recognize their great role and success in various fields of work, as well as their persistent pursuit to achieve important innovations and achievements that contribute to the growth of the nation. Moreover, he affirmed that UAE women have achieved great successes in various fields, thanks to the unlimited support given by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
Emirates Steel acknowledges that the role of Emirati women in shaping the UAE as one of the most dynamic and progressive nations has been exemplary. In the last few years especially, the UAE has strongly emerged as a powerful international force championing the cause of women empowerment and equal rights. Our women leaders have played an extremely instrumental role in driving the growth of the UAE and ushering it into a new era of progress and development. Therefore, Emirates Steel will continue to develop their Emirati women and empower them to be well-represented in the Steel industry and make major contributions in a range of areas related to the sector, thus, promoting innovation and helping to build a knowledge-based economy.
Moreover, Mr. Saeed continued, “The mother of the nation, H.H. Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al-Nahyan, stands as a testament and inspiration to all the Arab women in the world and this day serves as a reminder that women of the UAE have a bigger role to play in continuously reaffirming the country’s pioneering position in the world. This day brings pride to the nation, where it celebrates the achievements and accomplishments of a very significant part of the community, that played a big role in building our nation across various spectrums. It is of great importance for a nation to be reminded of the accomplishments and hard work and struggles that its women have achieved and faced to attain better conditions and strive after furthering its progress. It enables women to become role models and leaders to the upcoming generations, and spreads a sense of pride and honor amongst all Emirati women, whether they be mothers, housewives or working women.”
