In conjunction with World Steel Association’s “Steel Safety Day”, celebrated on April 28th of every year, Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, organized a safety awareness campaign targeting its internal workforce
.
More than 1,000 employees participated in the campaign that aims to encourage better safety in the steel industry and to highlight on the five most common causes of safety incidents: moving machinery, falling from height, falling objects, gas and asphyxiation, and moving cranes.
This year, Emirates Steel faused specifically on the occupational safety topics of falling from heights, in addition to the theme of ‘You are The Key to Our Safety”, which calls on everyone to gather for a pledge that affirms their commitment to safety.
Speaking to employees, HE Sae. Ghumran Al Remeithi, Emirates Steel’s CEO, said: “There is nothing more important for us than the health and safety of our employees and ensuring that they all return home safely to their families. We are dedicating this day to highlight and strengthen our safety and implement greater safety awareness in our company.”
To mark this day, the CEO and members of the Executive Committee visited various 10020816 11 the Company to reinforce safety awareness and educate the 10011 01 the main causes of incidents and how to prevent them. Working hand in hand with the World Steel Association and in line with the international safety standards, Emirates Steel, a Senaat company, continues to develop its safety procedures and create a safer working environment within its premises and plants with the aim to raise awareness of hazards and associated nsks.
